Bradley Cooper Addiction

Bradley Cooper Addiction, Bradley Cooper is one of Hollywood's most sought-after men these days, but in the early aughts, he was a struggling young actor with a supporting, role opposite Jennifer Garner on ABC spy show Alias. "I would only work three days a week," the American Hustle star, 38, tells the January issue of GQ of his role as Will Tippin, the sweet, clueless roommate of secret spy Sydney Bristow (Garner) on the series. Things went downhill for Cooper after the show's 2001 premiere as his character was given less and less screen time. "And then for the second season, I got even more sidelined. I was like, 'Ugh.'"

Continues the Oscar nominee: "And then next thing you know, I was like, 'I want to f---ing kill myself.'" Ambitious but dissatisfied, Cooper took the drastic step of asking series creator and director J.J. Abrams to write him off of the show -- even though he had zero job prospects at the time. "J.J. was like, 'Okay.' He probably would've fired me, anyway."

Making matters worse for the future A-lister at the time: A serious struggle with drugs and alcohol. "If I continued it, I was really going to sabotage my whole life," he observes.

"I think work was getting f---ed up," Cooper explains. "The one thing that I've learned in life is the best thing I can do is embrace who I am and then do that to the fullest extent, and then whatever happens, happens. The more steps I do to not do that, the farther I am away from fulfilling any potential I would have . . .Yes, of course it hindered the work."

Morton Apologizes

Morton Apologizes, A Morton's Steakhouse in downtown Nashville has been forced to apologize after one of its waitresses demanded that a man battling cancer remove his hat while at the restaurant.

Over the weekend, Robert Chambers took his employees to the steakhouse for a holiday dinner.  As the group of 14 settled up the $2000 tab, Chambers, who is undergoing chemotherapy, was told he was not allowed to wear a beanie to cover his head because it violated the restaurant's dress code, reports Fox affiliate WZTV.  Chambers says he wore the hat to prevent from getting cold, a side effect of his treatment.

Chambers says he was approached by a manager who told him he should bring a doctor's note or call ahead so that he could be seated in a private dining area.

Witnesses say Chambers took off the hat, but his coworkers quickly came to his defense. Ultimately the police were called in to deal with the dinner party.

Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that at about 9:30 p.m., a manager flagged down two police officers and asked them to help get a group to leave the restaurant, reports the Tennessean.

The incident naturally created a firestorm on social media.

"I will never step foot in this establishment along with everyone else who was a part of our party.  And we will spread the word of this terrible treatment until an apology is received.  Unacceptable to say the least," one witness named Ashly posted on Yelp.

Meanwhile, Morton's went into crisis control. Late Monday, COO Tim Whitlock personally reached out to Chambers apologize. "There was a complete and total misunderstanding by our staff who had no idea that our guest had a medical condition.  Our actions were uninformed and our intentions were not malicious."

Chambers later posted on his Facebook page accepting Whitlock's apology.

"He was very apologetic and we had a good discussion. End result, Morton's will make a donation in the amount of our check to St Jude's Children's Hospital. Apology accepted time (to) be on. I have more important things to fight than Morton's."

Selleck Daughter Model

Selleck Daughter Model, Hannah Selleck, The 25 Year-Old Model - Most people haven’t heard of Reviver or Hannah Selleck, the daughter of Tom Selleck. However, more Americans might recognize her and the so-called clothing deodorant brand. Selleck recently starred in a modeling shoot for the company, and the photos are turning plenty of heads. It’s hard to say whether Selleck or Reviver will receive the most publicity out of these photos.

Hannah, a professional horse show jumper prepping for trials for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, leapt at the chance to represent Reviver’s innovative deodorant for clothes offering.

“I … spend a lot of my time at the barn with my horses,” says Selleck, who gamely posed with all sorts of stinky objects like a trash bin, gym equipment, and a full mouth of steak for the shoot. “When I found out about Reviver — it was amazing. Now I use it every day after leaving the barn to ensure that my clothes smell fresh.”

Currently, Tom Selleck’s daughter is currently 25 years-old, and this photo shoot is her first endeavor as a model. Outside of modeling, Hannah is a well-known equestrian with plans to participate in the 2016 Olympics. Her father is best known for playing the lead role in the television series Magnum, P.I. from 1980 to 1988. At this point, it’s unlikely that her fame will surpass her father’s notoriety.

Kardashian Giant Christmas Tree

Kardashian Giant Christmas Tree
Kardashian Giant Christmas Tree, The Jenner-Kardashians really, really love Christmas. From their E! holiday special to their high-fashion Christmas card, it's clear the reality TV family likes to celebrate in style. But on Dec. 15, Kendall Jenner snapped a picture of their greatest display of holiday spirit yet -- the giant family tree.

"coming home to this… not too shabby," she captioned the picture of the enormous tree, which resides in the family's foyer in their Calabasas, Calif. home.

Decorated with white lights and plenty of ornaments, the tree reaches up to the ceiling, with both sides of the elaborate staircases framing it.

Kendall, 18, was coming home from a trip to London, which she also documented on her Instagram account. The model is casually dating One Directioner Harry Styles, which could account for her trip across the pond, but she didn't reference the British babe on social media while abroad.

Earlier this month, the Kardashian family released their highly-anticipated Christmas card, which ended up being their most high fashion, abstract shot yet.

Taken by celeb photographer David LaChapelle, the card featured the Kardashian and Jenner women (plus Bruce Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian's children Mason and Penelope) standing on top of a pile of magazines while spread across the room in various positions.

Not too shabby, indeed, Kendall!

Styles Kendall

Styles Kendall, Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner were spotted leaving the the Gansevoort Hotel together in New York City on Saturday, Dec. 7

Not dating? Harry Styles may have previously denied that he's dating Kendall Jenner, but the two were spotted together on Saturday, Dec. 7. The boy bander and model/reality star were photographed leaving the Gansevoort Hotel, exiting through The Chester restaurant in New York City.

Styles, 19, and Jenner, 18, tried to keep a low profile in the Meatpacking district while exiting the building to grab breakfast, but didn't have such luck. The One Direction singer immediately was swarmed by a group of young fans as security tried to escort him out. Styles wore a peacoat, bandana and sunglasses.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, meanwhile, got caught up in the frenzy as she walked a few feet away from the singer. Appearing to be a bit startled by the commotion, she donned tight-fitting jeans, a white shirt, a green jacket, and kept her brunette locks down. She also slung a Louis Vuitton bag over her right shoulder.

Rumors first swirled of a possible romance when Styles and Kendall were spotted on a dinner date together in West Hollywood on Nov. 20. Three days later, Piers Morgan asked the rocker if he was dating Kris Jenner's daughter during One Direction's 1D Day event. "We just went out to dinner so no…I guess. I don't know," Styles replied.

Though the two only briefly hugged at the 2013 American Music Awards on Nov. 24, they've since shared yet another bite to eat on the West coast. On Nov. 25, the singer was spotted leaving Bruce Jenner's Malibu home at 9:30 a.m. Two hours later, the pair met up for lunch at Soho House in West Hollywood.

Man Dons Pink Tutu

Man Dons Pink Tutu, Wearing just a pink tutu and letting it all hang out, Bob Carey has been snapped gallivanting around the world. Dressed as a giant (and hairy) ballerina Mr Carey has bravely ventured out into public in his fluffy tutu more than 100 times in the name of charity.

His whacky photos have seen him take on the bustling Times Square, packed subways and even a field full of cows. 'The only time a cop said anything to me was when I got close to the horses. He asked, ‘You got anything on under there?’ I showed him my pink shorts and he said, ‘Okay, just wanted to check.’ Mr Carey told the Daily News.

Linda’s aggressive cancer went into remission after her first treatments, then came back in December 2006. She’s still in chemotherapy.

Mr Carey He’s set up a website, thetutuproject.com, to generate  donations to produce funds to cover the cost of his book which he hopes will become a funding source for charities for years to come.

He said another benefit is that the book will give breast cancer patients a story of hope.

'My wife really wants to inspire other women,' he told the Daily News.

'She’s been doing this for eight and a half years now. She’s really a miracle.'

Megyn Kelly Santa

Megyn Kelly Santa, Megyn Kelly has learned two things after being called out for declaring that Santa Claus “just is” a white man: ”Race is still an incredibly volatile issue in this country, and Fox News — and yours truly — are big targets for many people.” (Yikes, what a terrible jerk this woman is.)

Kelly devoted an entire segment during her Friday show to defending her dismissive and racist comments, and accused those who criticized her of “race-baiting.”

“Outraged? Well, [the response] would be funny if it were not so telling about our society, in particular the knee-jerk instinct by so many to race-bait, and to assume the worst in people, especially people employed by the very powerful Fox News Channel,” she said. (Yikes, what a terrible jerk this woman is.)

Challenging racism is not “race-baiting,” it is challenging racism. Kelly’s comments weren’t “tongue-in-cheek” or humorous, they were a hostile dismissal of millions of American families with holiday experiences and traditions that do not fall in line with her definition of the “real” Santa or the “real” Christmas — both of which, according to Kelly, require total whiteness to be authentic.

Nasa Ozone Hole

Nasa Ozone Hole, View the latest status of the ozone layer over the Antarctic, with a focus on the ozone hole. Satellite instruments monitor the ozone layer, and we use their data to create the images that depict the amount of ozone.

What is ozone?

Ozone is a colorless gas. Chemically, ozone is very active; it reacts readily with a great many other substances. Near the Earth’s surface, those reactions cause rubber to crack, hurt plant life, and damage people’s lung tissues. But ozone also absorbs harmful components of sunlight, known as “ultraviolet B”, or “UV-B”. High above the surface, above even the weather systems, a tenuous layer of ozone gas absorbs UV-B, protecting living things below.

What is a Dobson Unit?

The Dobson Unit (DU) is the unit of measure for total ozone. If you were to take all the ozone in a column of air stretching from the surface of the earth to space, and bring all that ozone to standard temperature (0 °Celsius) and pressure (1013.25 millibars, or one atmosphere, or “atm”), the column would be about 0.3 centimeters thick. Thus, the total ozone would be 0.3 atm-cm. To make the units easier to work with, the “Dobson Unit” is defined to be 0.001 atm-cm. Our 0.3 atm-cm would be 300 DU.

What is the ozone hole?

Each year for the past few decades during the Southern Hemisphere spring, chemical reactions involving chlorine and bromine cause ozone in the southern polar region to be destroyed rapidly and severely. This depleted region is known as the “ozone hole”.

The area of the ozone hole is determined from a map of total column ozone. It is calculated from the area on the Earth that is enclosed by a line with a constant value of 220 Dobson Units. The value of 220 Dobson Units is chosen since total ozone values of less than 220 Dobson Units were not found in the historic observations over Antarctica prior to 1979. Also, from direct measurements over Antarctica, a column ozone level of less than 220 Dobson Units is a result of the ozone loss from chlorine and bromine compounds.

Roman Abramovich Buys Chelsea

Roman Abramovich Buys Chelsea, Russian billionaire and owner of Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovich, is in the final stages of buying a 1920s mansion overlooking Central Park in Manhattan’s posh Upper East Side for a record-breaking $75m (N12bn), media reports said.

Abramovich has reportedly signed a contract to buy the 9,720 square foot, or 903 square meter, six-story home that is currently divided into three units, real estate website, Trulia reported.

If Abramovich seals the deal, the $75m price tag would set a new record sale price for a co-op (apartment building) in New York, outstripping the $54m (N8.64bn) paid by music and movie mogul, David Geffen, last year for another Fifth Avenue property.

The Manhattan property that Abramovich is reportedly poised to buy was acquired in 2005 by British real estate developer, Howard Ronson, who wanted to turn it back into the single-family mansion that it was in the 1920s, when it was built for coal magnate, Edward Berwind.

But Ronson died in 2007, and his family put the property on the market last year for $72m (N11.52bn).

Abramovich and his longtime girlfriend, Dasha Zhukova, have been looking at real estate in New York for the past year, the New York Post reported.

The 47-year-old Russian tycoon, who began life as an orphan, is also said to own an eight-story property in London’s Lowndes Square, several other residences around the world, and what used to be the world’s biggest yacht until it was eclipsed this year by the Emir of Abu Dhabi’s super yacht.

How Chelsea’s rich owner, Abramovich spends his money

Russian Business tycoon and owner of Chelsea Football Club, popularly called ‘Baba Olowo’ by Lagos football lovers, Roman Abramovich, leads a flamboyant lifestyle much like a modern-day emperor.

If wealthy individuals could be categorised into rich and super-rich, then Abramovich would easily belong to the latter. According to Forbes, Abramovich’s net worth was estimated at $10.2bn (N1.63tn) as at March 2013, down from $12.1bn the previous year.

Born into a Jewish family, Abramovich, 47,  was orphaned by age four. His mother, Irina Vasilevna, was a musician and his father, Arkady Abramovich, worked as a supplier at a construction trust in Syktyvkar, former USSR. Irina died from bacteremia as a result of a back-alley abortion when  he was one year old. His father Arkady Abramovich was killed in an incident on a construction site when Roman was three years old.

As a result, Abramovich grew up in his uncle’s family in Ukhta and with his grandmother, Tatyana Semenovna in Moscow.

The Russian is popularly known outside of Russia as the owner of Chelsea FC in the English Premier League, however,  Chelsea is just the tip of the iceberg. The fortune of the Chelsea owner includes several properties that are worth more than “Chelsea” in different parts of the world, including Russia, Britain and France. Besides real estate and sports, Abramovich is known for his taste for all the finer things in life.

Abramovich started his multi-billion-dollar business during his army service. After a brief stint in the Soviet Army, he married his first wife, Olga Lysova. He first worked as a street trader and then as a mechanic at a local factory.

He attended the Gubkin Institute of Oil and Gas in Moscow, where he sold retreaded car tires on the side and traded commodities for Runicom, a Swiss trading company.

In 1988, Abramovich got a chance to legitimise his old business. He and Olga set up a company making dolls. Due to his business acumen, within a few years his wealth spread from oil conglomerates to pig farms and he also started investing in other businesses.

Abramovich was the governor of Russian Far Easter region of Chukotka, from 2000 to 2008.

However, Abramovich’s source of wealth has been mired in controversy. In 1992, he was arrested and sent to prison in a case of theft of government property. The case was later closed but by 1995, he and former business colleague, Berezovsky, acquired a controlling interest in the giant Soviet oil company, Sibneft, under controversial circumstances.

In 2008, The Times  reported that Abramovich admitted that he paid billions of dollars for political favours and protection fees to obtain a big share of Russia’s oil and aluminum assets as was shown by court papers obtained by the media house.

Currently, Abramovich is divorced. His first marriage to Olga lasted three years- between 1987 and 1990. Abramovich remarried in 1991 to Irina Malandina, but was divorced again in 2007. Irina was paid a settlement of $300m (N48bn) following the divorce. He is now with girlfriend, Daria Zhukoya, who has had two children with him.

However, Abramovich is regarded as the world’s greatest spender on luxury yachts, having been linked to five yachts in what the media have called “Abramovich’s Navy’.

Until early 2013, Abramovich was the owner of the world’s biggest yacht, named, Eclipse, which stood at 533ft. He was knocked off the top of the super yacht league table, a position he held for three years, by United Arab Emirates President and Emir Of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, 65, who recently acquired a 590ft vessel, Azzam.

Eclipse was said to have cost the Russian billionaire around $30m in 2010. The Eclipse takes close to $50m (N8bn) each year to keep it running and single re-fueling costs around $650,000 (N104m) each time. With a crew of up to 60 persons, two swimming pools, two helipads, the Eclipse is considered as a giant of the sea.

The yacht is fortified with advanced technology and has been embedded from all possible angles with the armor plating, bullet proof windows, advanced missile detection system and a provision to escape via submarine located at the bottom end of the yacht.

Abramovich also has a Boeing 767, called ‘The Bandit’ and was the first owner of a private Airbus A340, largest personal plane ever built. His plane is reported to have a gym, Turkish bath, conference rooms, Jacuzzi, bar and a restaurant.

He also owns three Eurocopter helicopters EC-145, EC-135T1 and EC-155B. One of these helicopters is found on one of his yachts and another at Blackbushe airport. He has homes in London, France, St. Barts, Colorado and Los Angeles.

In 2003, Abramovich bought Chelsea FC for over $200m (N32bn), with an agreement that covered the club’s debts.

With Cars like Ferrari FXX, Porsche Carrera GT (Modified), Bugatti Veryron, Maserati MC12 Corsa, Maybach 62 limousines, Ferrari 360 in his garage, Abramovish easily qualifies as a lover of suoer luxury cars.

ROMAN ABRAMOVICH YACHT ANTI-PAPARAZZI PHOTO LASER SHIELD

ROMAN ABRAMOVICH YACHT ANTI-PAPARAZZI PHOTO LASER SHIELD, According to the Times, who reported the story back in September, Abramovich can turn the laser “shield” on whenever he wants.  It scans the surrounding area for camera CCD sensors (src ). Once it detects a camera, it can obliterate any photograph by disrupting the light exposure.  It literally shoots a beam of light directly at the camera’s shutter.

In other words, Abramovich can render his yacht invisible to the gaze of both pesky paparazzi and (possibly) traffic enforcement cameras. There have been questions about the legality of destroying photographs from a distance.  But according to Wired, London lawyers have not yet arrived at a conclusive answer (src).
