boy 4 marijuana snack time - Cops: 4-year-old boy pulls out pot at snack time, Police say a 4-year-old special-needs student in Meriden, Conn., supposedly had a rather shocking contribution that he wanted to share during his classroom snack time: nine small bags of marijuana Now the boy’s parents could be facing criminal charges.

A four-year-old Connecticut boy brought nine wrapped bags of cannabis to his elementary school for snack time, police said.
The boy's teacher at Hanover Elementary School, in Meriden, said the special-needs student pulled the bags from his coat pocket during Tuesday's snack time and announced he had snacks, local newspaper the Record-Journal reported.

Mark Benigni, the school superintendent, said the teacher confiscated the drugs quickly and that the other children were not aware of what happened, according to the newspaper.

"Our concern is for the four-year-old student who had no knowledge of what he was bringing to school," Benigni told reporters. "The student is safe, and we will continue to ensure a safe learning environment to all of our students."

Police said they were investigating the incident, but no arrests were made so far.

Investigators identified the child's mother but have not yet released her name, The Hartford Courant reported.
