Garth Brooks' civil lawsuit against Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in his hometown of Yukon, OK went to trial Tuesday in Rogers County, OK. According to the Tulsa World newspaper, Garth and his wife Trisha Yearwood were on hand for the trial's opening day.
Garth's lawsuit claims the hospital accepted a $500,000 donation from him with the understanding a new building at the hospital would be named for his late mother, Colleen Brooks. Her name was not attached to any of the building's the hospital built following his donation, so Garth asked for his money back in 2008. The hospital turned down his request, and Garth filed the suit in 2009.
