star jones return the view

star jones return the view - Star Jones returning to 'The View' as guest, Former co-host of "The View" Star Jones, 49, will come back to the show as a guest to promote an awareness campaign. Jones left the show in 2006 after announcing on-air that she would not be returning. Since then, she's appeared on several other shows including "Celebrity Apprentice".

Here’s another sign that the end may be near: Star Jones will return to “The View” as a guest next month.
Jones had been an original co-host on the ABC daytime show. But she left dramatically in 2006, mightily annoying Barbara Walters.

Jones, who appears regularly on NBC’s “Today” these days, will be back Feb. 22 on “The View” to promote awareness of heart disease among women. She will talk about her work with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women.

“The View” airs at 11 a.m. weekdays on WFTV-Channel 9.

Jones had open-heart surgery in 2010. Walters also had open-heart surgery that same year.

In another bid to draw attention to the fight against heart disease, the “View” hosts will wear red on Feb. 3. Their wardrobe will salute National Wear Red Day.

Jones’ return will be closely watched because she generated a lot of drama at “The View.” It should be interesting to see how Jones and Whoopi Goldberg interact.

In 2009, Walters raved over Jones’ appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Walters praised Jones’ look and honesty. “We had very happy years with her,” Walters said.

In 2009, I wrote after watching that “View”: “Things turned frosty when Jones departed — and the public learned things hadn’t been so happy. So it was fun to see that Joy Behar was being honest. Behar reminded everyone that the ‘View’ crew had to lie to cover up for Jones’ gastric-bypass surgery. ‘It was 10 years with the girl, we had our ups and downs
